TEAM Seattle fosters support for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and
transgender (LGBT) communities in Seattle. We seek to
promote health, educate new athletes, develop communication
between various sports teams, and work together to attend local,
regional and international sports events. Leaders from many
teams come together and form our board of directors. We
welcome ideas from every sport to make the Seattle area a better
place for LGBT sports and recreation. Additionally each
team, league, or group, has a board for it's own sport.
Seattle has a vibrant LGBT sports community.
We have well organized sports clubs, for running, walking,
swimming, bowling, soccer, softball, rugby, tennis, water polo,
track, volleyball, biking, skiing and snow boarding, and diverse
outdoor hiking and camping activities. If you are a
beginner, advanced, or anywhere in between, Seattle offers
opportunity in most sports.

Team Seattle was
founded in 1986 for the express purpose of
organizing Seattle's team to Gay Games II in San Francisco. With 153
athletes competing in 17 of the 17 offered at Gay Games II, Seattle
entered the Games with the 2nd largest contingent outside California,
except New York City. Since then, Team Seattle's mission has broadened to
include all aspects of promoting and expanding opportunities for lesbian
and gay participation in all forms of organized sport.
